Bay of Plenty Beaches

OMOKOROA THERMAL HOLIDAY PARK is perfectly located midway between two famous beaches – Mount Maunganui Beach and Waihi Beach – both just a 30 minute drive away and perfect for a day trip!

At both of these very popular beaches you’ll find miles of white sand and blue surf. Take your surfboards and body boards because the waves can be pumping!

At Mount Maunganui you’ll find a dynamic beach culture and a cosmopolitan lifestyle. There are oceanside cafes and bars and great shopping. You can try kite surfing or Blo-Karting (land-based sail craft) when the wind's up, or just dig your toes into the sand and enjoy the sun. Walk around (or up!) the towering Mount Maunganui for excellent views and great picnic spots.

Opposite the beach is the tranquil harbour at Pilot’s Bay, an excellent spot for swimming (no waves), kayaking or fishing off the main jetty.

Waihi Beach is a smaller community but the beach can be just as busy during summer!
